The Role
As the Senior Vice President, Public Relations, you are focused on the overarching health and profitability of the agency, creating growth and innovation within a specific vertical. You ensure that the agency is continuing to grow through new client acquisition in existing and emerging markets. You share your expertise and knowledge to support Account Leads in navigating projects and scope increases within your client base. As a senior executive, you help shape the agency growth strategy by looking at and addressing needs within staff development, technology, platforms, agency innovation, and client service optimization.  You actively use your voice, expertise, and visibility in the industry to be a trusted spokesperson for the agency in new business pitches and presentations, as well as in client retention. Success in this role is continuing to build your team’s and client’s business year over year, while also looking to grow your book of business in your specific vertical.


Duties and Responsibilities 

Account + Client Management 

  • Oversee the overarching account strategies for the agency, reviewing and offering insight on client budgets, assigned resources, deadlines and ensuring that client expectations are exceeded.
  • Serve as the lead strategist for high-profile accounts. Drive all aspects of client service including strategy, program development and execution for multiple pieces of business
  • Oversee the overall creative direction of accounts.
  • Maintain relationships with core clients, leading appropriate planning and strategy sessions on select accounts, offering expertise, guidance and counsel across a broad range of topics.
  • Help account teams work effectively and in the best interests of the client, while maximizing agency’s network of resources to enhance client service and account structure.
  • Stay ahead of trends in our industries by following websites, blogs, daily/weekly newsletters and shares findings with clients, teams and the agency.
  • Grow accounts to be more profitable by increasing retainers, adding on projects and having a complete awareness of how the accounts are tracking through Harvest.
  • Manage account breakdowns and staffing levels of your office; ensuring accounts are profitable, running smoothly and staffed accordingly.
  • Attending client networking and industry events, which may occasionally be outside daytime working hours.
  • Traveling for clients as necessary.

Media Relations

  • Remain a trusted source of media knowledge for your teams and continue to nurture your close network of high-level editor and freelance connections for agency clients. 
  • Have a solid understanding of social media, the organizations capabilities and how social weaves into all of your integrated accounts/campaigns.
  • Nurture your network of editor, writer, and freelance connections for agency clients, as well as create new relationships,  through ongoing introductions, targeted pitches, and minimum of 2 (two) media meetings (phone, virtual, or in-person) each month. Continue to be a trusted source of media knowledge for your teams.

Leadership

  • Participate in two agency Committees, including management and participation in the roles and responsibilities of the committee, its goals, budget and reporting updates to Partners.
  • Be a leader in driving a positive work culture and serve as a positive role model and mentor for others in the agency, ensuring that you have a presence across all offices.
  • Construct teams that meet client needs across disciplines and geographies.
  • Manage teams effectively and coach staff in career development.
  • Offer recommendations for staff promotions.
  • Offer insight into key hires for the agency.
  • Keep the agency evolving through new technology, platforms and ways of working, identifying opportunities for innovation.
  • Grow your team and ensure that their development and job satisfaction are two major objectives.
  • Create and foster a learning environment and offer sound advice, suggestions and guidance to the supporting staff members.
  • Lead by example and offer the guidance, resources and motivation needed to grow other team members into established managers and leaders within the company.
  • Manage senior manager direct report(s), providing leadership, guidance, feedback and coaching to direct report(s) and account teams both in person and remotely, making recommendations for staff promotions.


New Business

You play a significant role in agency growth and business development. As such, responsibilities include:

  • Lead or support the development of new business proposals and case studies through brainstorming, ideation, tactics, thought leadership, scope and any other relevant information needed to prepare a successful proposal.
  • Be an active participant in sourcing, going after, pitching and securing new business alongside the Partners.
  • Provide expertise and industry insight into the development of new business proposals through brainstorming, ideation, tactics, scope and any other relevant information needed to prepare a successful proposal.
  • Traveling to participate in new business pitches as needed, which may include overnight and weekend travel.

20Two Studio / Industry

  • Participate in awareness building and thought leadership for the agency
  • Manage the account breakdowns and staffing levels of the Agency; ensures accounts are profitable, running smoothly and staffed accordingly.
  • Be a keynote speaker, panelist, expert in a variety of workshops, media events, webinars and conferences on behalf of 20Two Studio and its clients, furthering 20Two Studio’s presence in the industry and among our peers.
  • Offer the entire agency, internationally, guidance, insight and encouragement.
  • Consistently look for ways to further innovate and lead the agency through new ideas, procedures, offerings, benefits, resources and any ways to help our teams work efficiently.
  • Dedicate time and energy to a specific industry within travel, lifestyle and hospitality and is seen as an industry expert among colleagues and peers.
  • Work with Finance in the profitability of accounts, hitting 20Two Studio goals, contracting, scopes of work, etc.
  • Participate in the hiring process by interviewing and offering recommendations on candidates.
  • Develop, spearhead and create programs, events, retreats and activities that enhance 20Two Studio’s culture.

Experience

  • College Degree or comparable experience required.
  • At least 15 years of public relations experience in the hospitality, culinary, travel, tourism, restaurant and/or consumer lifestyle arenas.
  • Agency leadership a must, in-house experience is a plus
  • Must have stellar client and media references
  • Must have strong and proven relationships with local, regional and national media contacts
  • Must have strong, effective and proven management skills
