The Role

As the Senior Account Supervisor, Social Media you’re an expert in social media marketing, as well as your clients’ businesses. You’re in charge of leading a group of social media account teams, liaising with PR efforts, setting goals for accounts to drive client success and ROI, managing more nuanced client conversations, and looking for ways to improve processes, engagement, and deliverables. The Senior Account Supervisor of Social Media has a thorough understanding of how to leverage the agency’s capabilities (strategy, data, and industry insights) to bring innovative solutions to clients. Your responsibilities include building and growing strong client relationships, providing strategic direction to the account teams, maintaining the financial health of your accounts, scoping projects and developing staff.

 

Duties and Responsibilities 

Account + Client Management

  • Lead and inspire digital and PR teams to develop and elevate social media strategies, creative activations, digital marketing strategies and social content pillars for individual client accounts
  • Oversee the creative output that spans a wide range of social content types, including photography, video, illustration, influencer, and partner content
  • Begin to work with the account lead to ensure proper execution of approved social media strategies and activations are achieved, with close adherence to timelines and budgets, as well as proactive internal and client-facing communication
  • Participate in the development of and presentation of client strategies; ideate and implement annual strategies, short-term campaigns, and content to drive engagement and achieve KPIs
  • Act as a direct liaison with clients on tactical account work; serve as an expert to clients on all social media matters
  • Establish 90-day goals, designate team responsibilities, oversee KPI execution 
  • Oversee influencer relations and campaigns
  • Mastery of social analytics and social content performance reporting

Paid + Organic Social Leadership

  • Serve as a lead for paid social media efforts across social media client accounts to make sure organic efforts are supported and maximized with ad spend to increase results.  Monitor and maximize results  
  • Provide expertise and oversee tasks and resources associated with paid social execution; recommending ad budgets, flighting for all managed platforms, managing bid strategy, and campaign optimizations, analytics and tracking, ROI and retention recommendations 
  • Oversee one-off paid ideas/opportunities for all clients (i.e. Cyber Monday, Readers’ Choice Awards, link-building, etc.) and implementation by the team

Leadership

  • Manage entry and mid-level team members on accounts
  • Provide leadership, guidance, feedback, and coaching to direct report(s) in the agency, conducting check-ins and performance reviews as their manager
  • Elevate accounts across the J/PR portfolio by providing industry thought leadership 

Agency / Industry

  • Stay current on new social media content best practices and industry innovations, providing insights to drive agency evolution 
  • Participate in new business efforts

Experience

  • College Degree or comparable experience required 
  • At least 7 years of client management experience working on large, integrated accounts
  • At least 4+ years of demonstrated success in leading an account team in the digital / social media industry
  • Extensive experience managing, motivating, and leading account teams
  • Adept at managing client expectations as they relate to scope and delivery of service
  • Prior experience working with the financials of an account in a client-services organization
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with other agency capabilities to meet common goals
  • Proficient using tools to measure social media ROI and create reporting such as Hootsuite, Sprout Social, and Google Analytics
  • Proficient using content management tools such as HeyOrca, Sprout Social, etc.
  • Proficient implementing paid social media campaigns on Facebook and Instagram
  • Proficient editing photos (Adobe Photoshop & Lightroom)
  • Proficient in Facebook Business Manager, Power Editor, Ads Manager, Microsoft Office, Outlook, Canva
  • Agency experience preferred
  • Travel and/or hotel industry experience preferred  

Requirements

  • Ability to travel for client needs - must have a valid passport for international travel
  • Computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint in a Mac OS environment
  • Advanced understanding of Instagram, Facebook, X and TikTok
  • Advanced understanding of Influencer engagement
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Must be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
